Ladd Drummond Accident: How did Ladd Drummond’s accident happen?

In March 2021, Ladd Drummond and his nephew Caleb were both driving a Himmat Fire Truck when they collided “head-on” owing to “high gusts on a gravel road” that reduced visibility while combating a blaze on County Road N3660.

The wildfire broke out on the ranch on a  windy day in March 2021 March. As with many fires that occur in our remote area, surrounding ranches and rural fire departments were dispatched to assist in the fight.

According to the investigation, neither Ladd nor Caleb were wearing seatbelts, and Caleb “was thrown approximately 70 feet from the place of rest.”

Caleb was airlifted to St. John Medical Center in Tulsa with critical injuries, while Ladd drove himself to a local hospital and underwent surgery for a broken neck.

Ree Drummond confirmed that Ladd had fractured his neck in two places shortly after the collision. “The surgeon had warned us that the fracture in his neck had come dangerously close to injuring his spinal cord,” “The fact that he was lucky to be able to get up and move about the following surgery was a miracle.”
