Prophet Nicholas Osei, also known as Kumchacha and the founder of Heaven’s Gate Ministries, has publicly expressed regret to former President John Mahama for his earlier critiques of Mahama’s government.

The apology comes amid growing discontent with the current administration led by President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo and Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia.
In his apology, Prophet Kumchacha confessed that he had never cast his vote for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
“I have said on so many platforms that I have never voted for NDC all my life. In this world, the truth is the truth and a proverb even says that ‘if there is anything in your mother’s part and you remove it, that doesn’t mean you have slept with her,” he said.

Looking back on his earlier criticisms during Mahama’s time in office, he remarked, “During the tenure of John Mahama, when negative things happened, I boldly criticised him. So if I am speaking today too, listen to me. Today I say, me, Osofo Kumchacha, I am apologising to John Mahama.”
Bowing down to underscore his sincerity, Prophet Kumchacha addressed Mahama directly, stating, “Former President John Mahama, with all humility, I am sorry. Anything I have said during your governance about ‘dumsor’, the depreciation of the cedi, and fuel prices, John, please forgive me in the name of God.”
He pointed to the current government’s performance as the catalyst for his change of stance. “I didn’t anticipate this government described in John 10:10 would emerge and their actions would elevate you above the rest. Today, consider the cost of petrol—over GH₵60 per gallon. Today, the dollar exceeds GH₵15. Look at the challenges people are facing in the country,” Kumchacha lamented.
