Born as Chrystal Soo Jung in San Francisco, California, Krystal’s familial journey has roots in South Korea, where her family had settled in the 1980s. The decision to move to the United States proved to be a pivotal moment, setting the stage for the emergence of a global K-pop icon.

Krystal’s early encounter with the world of entertainment occurred during a family trip to South Korea in the early 2000s when she was just five years old.
