Kristin Smart Parents: Meet Stan Smart and Denise Smart

Kristin Smart was an American woman who disappeared in 1996 and was legally declared dead in 2002.

Kristin Smart was born in Augsburg, Bavaria, West Germany, on February 20, 1977, to Stan and Denise Smart, both teachers to children of American military personnel.

Denise and Stan Smart, who are in their 70s, live in Stockton, California, with their two remaining children, Matthew and Lindsey, and their grandchildren.

Denise now works as an instructor at the Teacher’s College of San Joaquin, assisting new educators in adjusting to their roles as guiding figures in young lives.

According to her LinkedIn profile. She taught for 30 years, first in Marysville and then in Stockton’s Lincoln Unified School District.

Stan, like his wife, began his career as a teacher before becoming a counsellor, principal, and trainer. However, he has since retired.

Kristen Smart attended and graduated from Lincoln High School in Stockton in 1995. She worked as a lifeguard and camp counsellor at Camp Mokuleia in Hawaii before her disappearance.

Stan and Denise filed a $40 million wrongful death lawsuit against Paul Flores in November 1996. Paul Flores was found guilty of Kristin Smart’s murder on October 18, 2022.
