Kris Budden Husband: Who Is Mario Toledo?

Mario Toledo is the husband of Kristen Lee Budden, an American sports reporter currently working for ESPN.

Toledo who was a member of the University of Tennessee men’s tennis team from 2000 to 2002 and the pair met in 2012, when she took a lesson from him at a Knoxville racquet club.

They got married in Charleston, South Carolina, in April 2014, two years after their first meeting and they have two children.

Budden attended Trinity Christian Academy, in the Dallas suburb of Addison, where she was a two-time state champion with the school’s tennis team.

She graduated with honors from University of Missouri’s School of Journalism with a broadcast journalism degree.

Budden’s first work was as a weekend sports anchor at WCAV in Charlottesville, Virginia.

Over the period of the next six years, Budden covered the men’s and women’s NCAA and SEC basketball tournaments, the 2012 Summer Olympics and Pat Summitt’s retirement.

In August 2013, Budden moved to San Diego, California, after accepting a position with Fox Sports and initially becoming a part of the Fox NFL broadcast crew.

In March 2014, she became the sideline reporter for the Padres broadcasts and a fill-in host for the team’s pre- and post-game shows.
