Kolby Kulhanek Cause Of Death

According to early autopsy results, a Lumberton man whose body was discovered Sunday may have drowned.

The cause of death is “pending toxicology and police inquiry,” according to a report acquired by The Enterprise. Initial observations of “drowning with watery fluid within the sinuses” are cited.

Kolby William Kulhanek, 25, was discovered Sunday afternoon in the 9400 block of Cook’s Lake Road, according to the Hardin County Sheriff’s Office. He had been missing for approximately a week.

“This is being looked into as a possible wrongful death,” Allen added. “We have a lot of work ahead of us, and the investigation is still underway. The facts are guiding us.”

Kulhanek was last seen on Oct. 12,  Friday, his keys and sunglasses, as well as his blue Audi, were discovered.

In a Facebook post, relative Molly Gore Lindsey said, “Losing this gorgeous young man with his wonderful smile is one of the most gut-wrenching things I’ve ever experienced.”

Kulhanek’s funeral will be held at Broussard’s Mortuary in Silsbee on Saturday, and he will be laid to rest in Kountze’s Old Hardin Cemetery. Among his surviving family members, his obituary mentions a daughter.
