Australian actor Kodi Smit-McPhee was born on June 13, 1996. His starring roles in the films The Road (2009) and Let Me In (2010) helped him become well-known as a young actor. In addition to Dawn of the Planet of the Apes (2014), X-Men: Apocalypse (2016), Alpha (2018), and Dark Phoenix (2019), he voiced the title character in ParaNorman (2012) and made appearances in Alpha (2018), Dark Phoenix (2019), and Alpha (2018).

Smit-McPhee won praise for his performance as a damaged youngster in Jane Campion’s western The Power of the Dog in 2021. He was nominated for an Academy Award for Best Supporting Actor and won a Golden Globe for his portrayal, among other honors. In the 2018 film Alpha, he portrayed the lead role of Keda, a young man from the Ice Age who tames a wolf.

Sianoa Smit-McPhee, an actress and singer, is his older sister. Smit-McPhee’s debut part in a feature film was in Romulus, My Father, for which he was nominated for a 2007 AFI Award for Best Young Actor and won the award. He was nominated for a Critics’ Choice Award for Best Young Actor in 2009 for his work in The Road, and for Best International Actor in 2010 by the Australian Film Institute (AFI).
