The final funeral ceremonies for the late Highlife icon, Kwabena Kwakye Kabobo, affectionately known as KK Kabobo, are scheduled to take place in Accra on the 15th and 16th of June 2024.

The dates for the funeral were revealed during the One-Week observance of the late Highlife legend, which took place at the Police Depot in Accra.
The gathering, which occurred on Saturday, April 20, attracted a multitude of mourners, among them fellow Ghanaian music luminaries Abrantie Amakye Dede, Okyerema Asante, and Obuoba JA Adofo, who came to honor the late maestro.

KK Kabobo passed away after a prolonged struggle with liver disease on Thursday, March 14, 2024, at the University of Ghana Medical Center.
The late Highlife legend was affiliated with the Professional Musicians Association of Ghana (PROMAG) and held a position as a board member of the copyright management team.
He rose to prominence with his hit track “Onyame Ahu” and founded his initial band, Explosive Jets, in 1978.
Prior to his music career, K.K. Kabobo worked as a pupil teacher for two years.
K.K. Kabobo is survived by 16 children from 5 different women.
