American actress, Kirstie Alley best known for her role in the comedy series, Cheers has died. She died at the age of 71 on December 5, 2022.

The news of her death was announced by her family in a statement. Per a statement released by her children, she died of cancer. They added that cancer had only been recently discovered.

Her ex-husband, Parker Stevenson, her two children and other celebrities posted their condolence on social media.
Alley received an Emmy Award and Golden Globe in 1991. From 1997 to 2000, she starred in the sitcom, Veronica’s closet earning additional Emmy and Golden Globe nominations.
In 1997, she received another Emmy nomination for her work in the crime drama series, The Last Don.
