Kilian Cano Fuentes: Meet Andrea Fuentes’ Son

Kilian Cano Fuentes is the son of Spanish retired synchronised swimmer Andrea Fuentes.

Kilian was born in 2014 from Andrea’s relationship with gymnast and fellow Olympian Víctor Cano.

Kilian’s mum joined the national synchronised swimming team in 1999 and competed at the 2004, 2008 and 2012 Summer Olympics, where she won four medals in the women’s duet and women’s team events.

Kilian’s mum retired from elite competition in January 2013, due to a lack of motivation emanating from a conflict between the Royal Spanish Swimming Federation and the head coach of the national team, Ana Tarrés.

Since retiring, Kilian’s mum has become a synchronised swimming coach, becoming the USA senior national team head coach in 2018.

Kilian’s mum works alongside Reem Abdalazem and the two have a pre-established work relationship, having worked together in synchro for four years.
