Kevin, who was born on June 21, 1960, earned his first cap for England in 1984 while playing for Castleford against Wales.

He later went on to earn a large number of caps for Great Britain against various countries.

He had played for Yorkshire, England, and Great Britain at the representative level.

He also competed for Castleford at the club level as a hooker while wearing the numbers 9, 8, or 10.

Kevin passed away after an illness, on November 14, 2022.

He was aged 62.

The Castleford Tigers had confirmed the news of his passing via a statement, describing the late player as “an uncompromising front-rower, who plied his trade in the hooker position.”

“With his signature taped-up headband, ‘Gripper’ was an all-action style player who always caught the eye and will be fondly remembered in our club history as one of Castleford’s greatest number nines”, the statement read.
