After his freshman season, Kendric Davis transferred to South Methodist University in Dallas, Texas. As a sophomore, Kendric Davis averaged 14.2 points, an AAC-leading 6.7 assists, and 4.1 rebounds per game.

Following the 2021–22 season, Kendric Davis transferred to the University of Memphis for his final season of eligibility. On January 23, 2023, he scored 26 points in an 80–68 win against Tulsa and surpassed the 2,000-point threshold.
