Kelly McGillis is an American actress. She is the daughter of Donald Manson McGillis and Virgina Joan McGillis.

Kelly McGillis is the eldest of three daughters. Her mother Virgina Joan McGillis was a homemaker and her father, Donald Manson McGillis was a physician.
Her ancestors are Scots-Irish on her father’s side and German on her mother’s side; she also has Welsh ancestors. She went to Newport Harbour High School.
Kelly McGillis grew up in Los Angeles and attended Allan Hancock College’s Pacific Conservatory of the Performing Arts in Santa Maria, California.
She moved to New York City to study acting at the Juilliard School after dropping out of high school in 1975 and graduated in 1983, Group 12.

Kelly Ann McGillis is best known for her roles in films such as Witness (1985), for which she received Golden Globe and BAFTA nominations, Top Gun (1986), Made in Heaven (1987), The House on Carroll Street (1988), and The Accused (1988)
She went on to appear in horror films such as Stake Land (2010), The Innkeepers (2011), and We Are What We Are (2013).
