Kelly McGillis Ex-Partner: Who is Melanie Leis?

Melanie Leis is a sales executive and the ex-wife of Kelly McGillis an American actress.

Melanie Leis worked in Philadelphia with Independence Communications, which provides Muzak to businesses. She is a graduate of the Berklee College of Music.

They met in 2000 while Leis was working as a barman at the Caribbean Bar Grill & Brewery in Key West, Florida, which McGillis co-owned with her then-husband

Although they hit it off quickly, their relationship wasn’t the healthiest because they would frequently drink and use drugs. They got married in 2010. The following year, their union was dissolved.

When McGillis and Leis shared a Collingswood home, she worked full-time with drug addicts and alcoholics at Seabrook House Drug Alcohol Rehab Centre, a rehabilitation centre in Bridgeton, New Jersey.

Kelly McGillis came out in 2009, but she previously stated that she had been a lesbian for the majority of her life. Since high school, the actress has been attracted to girls, but it “horrified” her because “that wasn’t right.”

Kelly McGillis is now a resident of Hendersonville, North Carolina. She began teaching acting at the New York Studio for Stage and Screen (NYS3) in Asheville, North Carolina in 2013.
