Sri Lankan track and field athlete Kaushalya Madushani, who died at age 26, on April 24, 2022, was not married and had no record of a relationship.

During the 2014 Asian Junior Athletics Championships, Madushani claimed a silver medal in the women’s 400m hurdles event.

She clinched gold medal in the women’s 400m hurdles event during the 2016 National Athletics Championships and was selected as the best hurdler in the competition.

She also claimed gold in the women’s 400m hurdles during the the 2016 National Sports Festival.

Madushani represented Sri Lanka at the 2019 South Asian Games and claimed two medals in the multi-sport event including a gold in the women’s 4 × 400 m relay team event and a silver in the women’s 400m hurdles.

In April 2022, she also emerged as the winner in the women’s 400m hurdles category at the 100th National Athletics Championships with a timing of 58.73 seconds.

Madushani died at her residence in Dummalasuriya. Kuliyapitiya Police division revealed her death is believed to be a case of suicide and was found hanging inside her home.
