Sarah Kathleen, Caleb Gibson, Laura Elizabeth, and Patrick Allen were the children of Australian woman, Kathleen Folbigg. Unfortunately, they were tragically killed while they were still infants.

When Folbigg was only 20 years old, she got married to Craig Folbigg after they had met in Newcastle, northern New South Wales coast. She got pregnant with their first child, Caleb Gibson in February 1989. However, Caleb died when he was just 19 days old.
In 1990, she had another child, Patrick Allen, who died at eight months. Sarah Kathleen was born in 1992 and died after 10 months. Then there came their last child, Laura Elizabeth, born in 1999 and died at 18 months; she was the longest-lived child.
Due to the circumstances of their death, it moved the police to investigate the causes when Laura died in 1999. In 2001, Folbigg was arrested and charged, and her marriage with Craig was in jeopardy.

Craig contributed heavily to the investigations and provided the authorities with the diary of his wife Kathleen. According to the prosecutors, the diary contained detailed information about the thoughts of a mother tortured by guilt for her role in her children’s deaths.
However, there was no concrete evidence against her after examination of the babies’ bodies, however, she was the top suspect of the case. She was sentenced to 40 years in prison, however, Judge Graham Barr shared that her father killed her mother when she (Kathleen Folbigg) was just 18 months and had to live most of her life in foster care.
On June 5, 2023, she was pardoned after serving 20 years behind bars, which most people consider to be a miscarriage of justice.
