The prime suspect in the fatal shooting of a military officer in Kasoa, Ben Lord Ababio, has been officially charged with murder and conspiracy to commit murder.

Ben Lord, who claims to be a chief, is accused of killing the officer at the Millennium City Police Station.
Initially arraigned on May 3, 2024, Ben Lord has been held in remand. The police, after completing their investigation, submitted the case file to the Attorney-General’s office for advice.

Following weeks of deliberation, the Attorney-General directed the police to proceed with charges of murder and conspiracy against Ben Lord.
Additionally, Nana Amoh Kwakye, the second individual implicated in the case, faces charges of conspiracy to commit murder. The court has adjourned the case until June 20, 2024.
