Initially expected on Tuesday, May 7, 2024, the verdict was postponed as Justice Lydia Osei Marfo, the presiding judge, declared that the court’s summing up was not yet prepared.

The two teenagers, a 15-year-old juvenile and an 18-year-old young offender, face charges of conspiracy to commit murder and the actual murder of Ishmael Mensah Abdellah.

During the court session, Justice Lydia Osei Marfo announced that the summing up was not ready, leading to an agreement between the court and the jury panel to reconvene on June 24 for the closing addresses by the parties and the summing up.

Citing unforeseen circumstances, the court explained the need for the postponement, disappointing the family members of the deceased who were present in court.

The trial, which began on February 14, featured the presentation of evidence and witnesses, including relatives of the accused and the victim.

The prosecution, led by Senior State Attorney Nana Adoma Osei, called upon seven witnesses, including the family of the juvenile defendant.

The two teenagers are facing serious charges related to the murder of Ishmael Mensah Abdellah, with the juvenile admitting to the offense while the young offender denies the charges against him.
