Karen Allen is an American film and stage actress born on October 5, 1951, in Carrollton, Illinois, U.S. She was previously married to actor Kale Browne from 1988 to 1998 and they have a son named Nicholas.

Karen Allen is currently single. Karen Allen debuted in the comedy film Animal House and has starred in Manhattan (1979), The Wanderers (1979), and Cruising (1980).

Karen Allen graduated from DuVal High School in Lanham, Maryland, and moved to New York City to study art and design at the Fashion Institute of Technology.

Allen attended George Washington University and studied at the Lee Strasberg Theater Institute in New York City. Karen Allen’s commercial breakthrough came when she portrayed Marion Ravenwood in Raiders of the Lost Ark (1981).
