Kaoru Mitoma is a Japanese football star who plays as a winger for Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion, as well as the Japan national team.

Born May 20, 1997, in Kanagawa, Japan, Mitoma attended the University of Tsukuba, where he studied physical education.
During his college days, he played football in the Kanto University Soccer League with Tsukuba, and was named to the all-league XI.
Mitoma also played with the Japan under-23 national team at the 2017 and 2019 Universiade tournaments, the 2018 Asian Games and the 2019 Toulon Tournament.
Mitoma signed a contract with the Kawasaki Frontale in 2018, until 2021 when the Premier League club Brighton & Hove Albion signed him into a four-year contract.
