The victim Kristina Sarhadi appeared on the Enough podcast. During the interview, she did not specifically mention Anti Flag’s Sane.

She did, however, refer to him as the “lead singer” on the podcast. She claimed to have met Justin Sane at the end of the Anti Flag concert. The two exchanged phone numbers and agreed to meet at a film festival near her home.

Following their time at the film festival together, the singer asked Sarhadi to drive him to a party in the woods. During their journey, he allegedly became touchy with her and began hitting on her.

Sarhadi ended up in Sane’s hotel room inebriated in the end of the night. The latter then flung her on the bed while yelling “football tackle.” She said she was “crying, screaming,” and asking him to stop, but the “violent” assault went on for a long time, leading her to believe she would be dead by the end of the night.

On July 26 2023, Sane released a statement through his reactivated personal Instagram account denying the accusations and calling them “categorically false”; in his statement.

Sane also explained the length of time before he made a statement, stating that he needed time to “absorb the initial shock.” His Anti-Flag bandmates released a separate statement explaining their decision to disband.
