Justin Sane is an American musician best known as the lead guitarist and vocalist of the American punk rock band Anti-Flag. The names of his parents are not public knowledge.

However, Sane is the youngest child of a working-class Irish-American family, and he looks up to his parents as role models. His parents were vegetarians who launched Pittsburgh’s first vegetarian restaurant, motivating Sane to become a vegetarian and animal rights activist.
He observed his parents participate in rallies as a child, and when he grew older, he joined them. Sane got his first guitar from his sister Lucy, who introduced him to punk music and hardcore. Sane’s first song was about a young person who overdosed, and his second was about televangelists.
