Ian Sawyers is an English football manager and the husband of Julie Foudy a prominent figure in the world of women’s soccer and sports leadership.

The couple has been married since 1995. Foudy gave birth to their first child, a daughter named Isabel Ann, on January 1, 2007. Their second child, a son named Declan, was born in December 2008.
They have jointly conducted youth soccer camps and worked on other soccer-development projects through the Julie Foudy Sports Leadership Academy.

Her husband Ian Sawyers played professionally for the Rotherham United club in England. He began his coaching career in the 1980s and he has coached over 4 soccer teams. Sawyers was selected head coach of the Bay Area CyberRays, subsequently known as the San Jose CyberRays, one of the Women’s United Soccer Association’s eight original member teams.
He was named WUSA Coach of the Year in 2001 after the CyberRays won the inaugural WUSA championship. Sawyers coached the CyberRays for two more seasons before the WUSA folded in 2003.
Sawyers became the head coach of Sky Blue FC, a Women’s Professional Soccer team headquartered in Somerset County, New Jersey, that was planned to play its inaugural match in April 2009.
