Brooks Laich, 38, is a former professional ice hockey player from Canada. He began playing minor hockey in his hometown of Wawota, Saskatchewan. Laich was drafted by the Senators in the 2001 NHL Entry Draft and eventually moved to the Capitals as part of the deal for Peter Bondra.

During the 1999-2000 season, he was named the midget AAA Tisdale Trojans’ highest scorer and most valuable player.
During his active career, Laich appeared in over 750 National Hockey League games. They were spread across four teams: the Ottawa Senators, Washington Capitals, Toronto Maple Leafs, and Los Angeles Kings.

He formally announced his retirement on June 25, 2021. Following his divorce from Hough, he disclosed on Instagram that he is dating professional CrossFitter Katrn Davsdóttir.
Laich began dating professional dancer and actress Julianne Hough in February 2014. Then, on August 18, 2015, Laich confirmed his engagement to Hough via Instagram.
The couple wedded in July 2017 and had been married for three years. They split in May 2020 but reconciled by early September. It didn’t last long, as Hough filed for divorce in November of the same year.
