The third round of the 2017 NFL Draft saw the Cowboys choose Lewis. On June 28, Lewis and the Dallas Cowboys agreed to a four-year, $3.24 million deal that included a $753,428 signing bonus.

Lewis played against the Denver Broncos on September 17 after being a healthy scratch for the season’s first game. He joined the contest after Carroll suffered a concussion, and in a 42-17 loss, he recorded six solo tackles and his first career interception of Broncos quarterback Trevor Siemian.

Lewis will receive a $3,000,000 base salary, a $470,588 roster bonus, a $4,637,255 cap hit, and a $2,333,334 dead cap value.
