Joshua Twasam, the first son of the late Christian Atsu, has been awarded Northumberland Football League player of the year.

Joshua, the late footballer’s eldest son, presently plays for Gosforth Football Club’s youth team.
Joshua is following in his late father’s footsteps, as he was brilliant for his team en route to winning the Pro Motiv8 event.

The Northumberland Football League oversees Mini Soccer and Youth leagues and programs in England, providing a platform for children to participate in football.
The Northumberland Football Association is the governing body that supervises various leagues and programs in the historic county of Northumberland.

After Joshua won the Pro Motiv8 event earlier this year, his mother, Marie-Claire Rupio, posted a photo of her son with the trophy.
The shot was captioned “will make his dad proud,” and several of Marie-followers Claire’s wished Joshua a prosperous football career.
Christian Atsu, Joshua Tsawam’s father, was certified deceased on Saturday, February 18, 2023, when his lifeless body was pulled from the rubble in Turkey following the earthquake.
This came after days of intense searching in the aftermath of the terrible earthquake that struck Turkey and Syria in mid-February.
The former Chelsea and Newcastle United winger was put to rest in Ada on Friday, March 17, 2022.
