Josh Frydenberg has made his first public statement since learning he is likely to lose his seat in the 2022 election. Mr Frydenberg talked to fans from his election night event in Kooyong, accompanied by his wife Amie.

Mr Frydenberg expressed gratitude to the people of Kooyong, Australia, the Liberal Party, and his colleagues. “But, most importantly,” he concluded, “thank you to my family.”

Mr Frydenberg became emotional as he looked on his tenure in Parliament, saying he was happy to have launched the JobKeeper initiative to keep people employed during the Covid-19 period.

“No one has ever voted only for Josh Frydenberg.” “In Kooyong, they’ve always voted for the Liberal Party’s candidate,” he informed the audience.

“It is the Liberal Party’s beliefs that have pushed us for more than 70 years and helped us become Australia’s most successful party.”

Mr Frydenberg’s address was interspersed with clapping and cheers from the audience, with one man exclaiming, “You’re a bloody excellent captain, Josh,” and another saying, “You’ll be back.”
