Insiders close to Mourinho have disclosed that he would eagerly embrace the chance to return to Old Trafford for a second stint, despite his dismissal from the club in December 2018.

According to reports, the two-time Champions League winner has allegedly informed close associates that he would “walk” to Manchester if granted the opportunity to manage United once again.

Nevertheless, Jose Mourinho is not expecting any approach from his former club, as indicated by Manchester-based journalist Samuel Luckhurst.

The current United manager, Erik ten Hag, encountered a major setback on Monday night as his team endured a 4-0 defeat to Crystal Palace, marking their 13th loss of the Premier League season.

Despite their upcoming FA Cup final against Manchester City on May 25th, Ten Hag’s position at the club seems uncertain in light of their disappointing performances this season. United have been eliminated from European competitions and exited the League Cup at an early stage.
