Bautista began studying English at the age of eight, coming from a middle-class Dominican family that valued education.

His mother worked as an accountant and financial planner, and his father, who had studied agricultural engineering in Hungary, owned chicken farms. Bautista attended De La Salle High School in Santo Domingo, a private high school.

José Bautista played in Major League Baseball (MLB) primarily as an outfielder and third baseman. Bautista is best known for his time with the Toronto Blue Jays, where he became one of the most recognizable and impactful players in the franchise’s history.

Throughout his career, Bautista was a six-time MLB All-Star and won multiple Silver Slugger Awards, which are given to the best offensive player at each position. He also had stints with other teams, including the Pittsburgh Pirates, Baltimore Orioles, Tampa Bay Devil Rays, Kansas City Royals, and Atlanta Braves.
