Kelly Dale Anderson was born in February 1965 by Joni Mitchell and she was plaed for adoption due to financial problem.

Joni decided to give her daughter out because, Kelly’s father decided not to marry her, and she became worried about Kelly’s future, she then made a very difficult decision and gave her daughter out for adoption.
Kelly Dale was named Kilauren Gibb by her birth parents. Soon after she gave her daughter out for adoption, Joni gain fame. This made her very sad and this lead to the recording of the album, Blue.
According to Mitchell, her daughter “had abandonment issues and she was pretty rough on me and conscripted my granddaughter, but we’ve worked through all of that. We reminisced about all the little tricks we pulled and the ways we can hurt each other. That’s over. We’re going to see each other soon.”
