John Wickham ‘Spirit Racing’ died at the age of 73 after battling a Motor Neurone Disease, which he was diagnosed with in 2019. He was the team director of the organization that triumphed at Le Mans with the Speed 8 LM-GTP coupe.

Per records, John Wickham has worked worldwide in different racing categories and with different manufacturers. He was the Technical and Operations General Manager at the A1 Grand Prix World Cup of Motorsport throughout its four-season life between 2005 and 2009.
