John Michael Tolkin is a left-back for Major League Soccer club New York Red Bulls and the United States national team.

On July 10, 2019, Tolkin made his professional debut as a second-half replacement in a 4-3 victory over Bethlehem Steel. In the 82nd minute, he provided his first professional assist on Tom Barlow’s equalizer.
Tolkin was selected as the New York Red Bulls’ Defender of the Year for the 2022 season on November 18, 2022.
Toklin scored his first goal of the season for New York on August 20, 2023, an 88th-minute free kick, helping his club to a 1-0 victory over rival DC United.
