American Major League Baseball catcher and coach, John Sullivan has died. He died on June 1, 2023, in nearby Wayland, New York at the age of 82.

The cause of his death is unknown.

A left-handed batter who threw right-handed, Sullivan stood 6 feet tall and weighed 195 pounds (89kg) as an active player. Sullivan began managing at Dansville High School after retiring in 1973. Then he managed a minor league baseball in the Kansas City Royals Farm system. During six seasons, he rose from Rookie ball to Triple-A, winning four league championships and compiling a stellar .601 winning percentage.
Sullivan’s retirement was announced at the Blue Jay’s championship celebration, and he was asked to unveil the 1993 World Series Championship banner at the end of festivities.
Sullivan’s family called Dansville, New York home from 1973 on.
