Her coaching journey continued as she embraced opportunities at various institutions. Initially, Sarah served as an assistant coach at the University of Dayton, showcasing her ability to impart knowledge and foster athletic growth in others. Following her stint at Dayton, she returned to her hometown, where she assumed the role of director of volleyball operations at the University of Wisconsin.

It was at the University of Wisconsin that Sarah’s path intersected with John’s. As John worked as an assistant coach for the Badgers under then-head coach Mike Eaves, their connection blossomed into a deeper bond that would endure for more than two decades.

While Sarah’s professional pursuits in coaching have taken a back seat in recent years, her impact on the Hynes family remains immeasurable. Devoting her time to her husband, children, and the intricacies of family life, Sarah serves as a pillar of strength and support for John as he navigates the challenges of coaching in the NHL.
