John Corbett made his acting the first season of ABC’s comedy-drama series The Wonder Years in 1988. He played as Chris Stevens in the CBS comedy-drama series Northern Exposure from 1990 to 1995.
For his role in Northern Exposure, he received Golden Globe nominations for Best Supporting Actor – Series, Miniseries, or Television Film and Primetime Emmy nominations for Outstanding Supporting Actor in a Drama Series.

His other movie roles include My Big Fat Greek Wedding (2002), Sex and the City 2 (2010), My Big Fat Greek Wedding 2 (2016), My Big Fat Greek Wedding 3 (2023), and the To All the Boys film trilogy (2018–2021).
