John Beasley (Actor) Obituary

American actor, John Beasley has died following complications from a liver surgery. He died on Tuesday, May 30, 2023, at age 79.

“I lost my best friend today. They say you shouldn’t ever meet your heroes because they don’t turn out to be who you thought they were. This is so wrong. My hero was my father. Thank you for everything,” his son, actor Michael Beasley announced his death via social media.

Tributes have been pouring in across social media after his death was announced.

“John Beasley who was a great actor in Walking Tall, Sum of all fears, and many many more movies passed away. He was great to Omaha donating money and time to local youth groups and a great much more. Much loved man who made everything around him better,”  a fan wrote.

“See you down the road Papa Beasley. You dropped plenty of jewels in my life. Love, thoughts & prayers to the family,” Sterling Anderson wrote.

“The unexpected passing of our mentor, John Beasley is a huge blow. RIP to our guru,” 1st Sky Omaha wrote.

“So heartbreaking to hear of John Beasley’s passing. Very thankful to be able to meet him, interview him, and listen to his passion and wisdom. My thoughts go out to the family and the hundreds he impacted. He will definitely be missed!” news reporter, Kale Searcy wrote.

“John Beasley so wanted to see the Marlin Briscoe movie made. He raised money for it, I think I helped write the script and pushed for it for years. Those August Wilson plays at his theatre were so fan to watch. John was such a good man. Thoughts go out to his family,” TV reporter, Mike’l Severe.
