About Johaar Mosaval
Johaar Mosaval was a famous ballet dancer and the first black man to dance with the Royal Ballet beginning from the 1960s.

Mosaval toured all around Europe, Australia, New Zealand, the Middle East, the Far East, Canada, and the United States.
He retired from dancing after performing with the Royal Ballet for 25 years and relocated permanently to Cape Town.
In 2019, Mosaval was awarded the Order of Ikhamanga in Gold, by South Africa’s President Cyril Ramaphosa.
In March 2023, Mosaval was honoured with a special ballet, Dreaming Dance in District Six-The Johaar Mosaval Story at Opera House of the KunsteKaap Theatre, in Cape Town, South Africa.”
Mosaval passed away on August 16, 2023, at the age of 95.
