Joan Boocock Lee Cause of Death: How did Stan Lee’s wife Die?

Joan Boocock Lee the wife of Stan Lee, an American comic book writer, editor, publisher, and producer died of stroke-related complications on July 6, 2017, in Los Angeles.

Joan, her daughter, and her husband of nearly 70 years were present when she died.  Although several sources said she was 93 at the time of her death, British birth records show she was 95.

Joan Boocock Lee was a model as well as a voice actress. She met her husband Stan Lee in the 1940s in New York City while working as a hat model.

Stan and Joan Lee relocated from New York City to Los Angeles in 1981. In the 1990s, she lent her voice to several animated Marvel shows.

She first appeared as a recurring character in Fantastic Four in 1994. In 1994, she voiced a computer in three episodes of the Iron Man television series.  She later appeared as Madame Web in Spider-Man, appearing in eight episodes from 1996 to 1998.

Joan Boocock Lee appeared in With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story, a documentary about her husband, in 2010. Lee last appeared in a cameo alongside her husband in the 2016 film X-Men: Apocalypse.
