Jimmy Bell, the legendary kit man, died on May 2, 2022, at the age of 69. Bell was a cult hero among fans and an important member of the Rangers Football Club, and his death left them devastated. His cause of death is unknown

“As a club, we are devastated to learn of the loss of our colleague and, more importantly, our dear friend, Jimmy Bell,” Rangers chairman Douglas Park said.

“Jimmy gave his entire life to the Rangers Football Club.” Working under managers ranging from Graeme Souness to Giovanni, he witnessed some of the most memorable moments in our 150-year history.

Since joining the Ibrox club shortly before the arrival of Graeme Souness in 1986, Bell has been an integral part of the Ibrox backroom team. Bell started as a bus driver for the club before moving up to the kitman position and working under eleven Rangers managers.
