Jim Parsons Parents: Meet Judy Parsons and Jack Parsons

Judy and Jack Parsons are Jim Parsons’ parents. They both hail from Texas, the same state where Jim was born and reared. Jack Parsons had a plumbing supply business, while Judy Parsons worked as a teacher.

Jim has frequently praised his parents for their encouragement of his work in interviews. He has said that his mother encouraged him to pursue acting and that his father instilled in him the value of perseverance and hard work.

Jim was only beginning his acting career when Jack Parsons tragically died in a vehicle accident in 2001. Jim has spoken in public about the effects of his father’s passing on him and his family as well as how it has changed his outlook on life.

Judy Parsons and Jack Parsons’s son, Jim Parsons is an American actor best known for his role as Sheldon Cooper in the CBS sitcom “The Big Bang Theory.” He was born on March 24, 1973, in Houston, Texas.

Parsons graduated from the University of Houston with a degree in theatre and later attended graduate school at the University of San Diego.

Parsons’ breakthrough role came in 2007 when he was cast as Sheldon Cooper in “The Big Bang Theory,” a role he played for 12 seasons until the series ended in 2019. For his performance on the show, he won four Primetime Emmy Awards for Outstanding Lead Actor in a Comedy Series.

Parsons has also appeared in numerous other television shows and films, including “Judging Amy,” “Ed,” “Garden State,” and “Hidden Figures.” In addition to acting, he has also done voice-over work for several animated films, including “Home” and “Spies in Disguise.”
