Jim Goodwin is a 41 years old Irish former professional footballer and current football manager. He was born on February 20, 1982, in Paisley, Scotland.

Goodwin started his professional career with Celtic, one of the top clubs in Scotland. In 2002, Goodwin joined the Scottish club Hamilton Academical, where he had a successful spell, making over 150 appearances.
After leaving Hamilton, Goodwin had stints with various Scottish clubs, including Stockport County, St. Mirren, and Ross County. He enjoyed considerable success with St. Mirren, helping the team win the Scottish League Cup in 2013. Goodwin was known for his combative style of play and leadership qualities on the field.

Following his retirement as a player in 2017, Goodwin transitioned into coaching and management. In 2018, he was appointed the player-manager of Alloa Athletic, a Scottish club competing in the lower divisions.
Goodwin began his coaching career as a player-coach at St.Mirren. After working as an assistant manager at Alloa Athletic, he took over as manager and guided the team to promotion. He returned to St Mirren as manager in June 2019.
He left St Mirren in February 2022 to become manager of Aberdeen, but was fired 11 months later. Goodwin was named manager of Dundee United in March 2023.
