On the Westwood One Network, he is best known for hosting the nationally syndicated late-night radio talk show The Jim Bohannon Show.
Talkers magazine’s annual “Heavy 100” list of “The 100 Most Important Radio Talk Show Hosts in America” includes Bohannon several times.
In 2003, he was elected into the National Radio Hall of Fame, and he received the Talkers Lifetime Achievement Award in 2013.

Jim Bohannon’s Cause Of Death
Jim Bohannon, a Washington-based, right-of-center radio host whose namesake program was syndicated coast-to-coast by Westwood One, died on Saturday at the age of 78.
The cause of death was cancer, the Washington Examiner newspaper reported. Bohannon passed away at the Prisma Health Cottingham Hospice House, according to an obituary published online.
Bohannon is survived by his wife, Annabelle Bohannon, and his daughter, Elizabeth Smith. His family is requesting donations in Jim’s memory to any organization in lieu of flowers.
