James Everett Bohannon, an American broadcaster who worked in both television and radio famous for hosting the nationally syndicated late night radio talk show The Jim Bohannon Show on the Westwood One Network has died at age 78.

He also hosted America in The Morning, a nationally syndicated radio news show, for 31 years.
He stepped down as host of the show in December 2015.
Bohannon, who was included in Talkers magazine’s annual “Heavy 100” picks of “The 100 Most Important Radio Talk Show Hosts in America” on several occassions, was inducted into the National Radio Hall of Fame in 2003.
In 2013, he was awarded Talkers Lifetime Achievement Award.
He was also nominated for the National Association of Broadcasters Marconi Award for Network Syndicated Personality of the Year.

In December last year, he was announced as an inductee into the NAB’s Broadcasting Hall of Fame.
