Born on October 20, 1989, Jess Glynne completed a month-long music course at an East London college, Access to Music, where she met her future collaborators; songwriter Jin Jin and producer Bless Beats. One of her and Jin Jin’s compositions caught the attention of Black Butter Records, which got her signed to a publishing deal.

In August 2013, she signed a contract with Atlantic Records and left her old job at the time in brand management for a drinks company. That same year, she was approached by Deep House producer, Route 94 about rewriting and providing vocals for his son My Love.
The song was released in February 2014 and reached number one on the UK Singles Chart. It was later certified Platinum by the British Phonographic Industry.
Glynne also collaborated with British band, Clean Bandit to release the son Rather Be, which also attained number one and top five positions on charts across Europe and Oceania, and was a top ten hit on the US Billboard Hot 100. Both My Love and Rather Me were nominated for BRIT Awards for Best British Single.

She released her debut solo single, Right Here, in July 2014, and it charted several countries including number six in the UK. In March 2015, she released her second solo song Hold My Hand. It debuted at number one in the UK, where it spent three weeks.
Glynne’s debut album, I Cry When I Laugh was released in the UK in August 2015, following the number one single Don’t Be So Hard On Yourself. The album entered the UK Albums Chart at number one and later received a triple Platinum certification.
She released her second album, Always in Between in 2018, and it became her second number-one album. She embarked on her album tour in November 2018, in Europe, the UK, and the US, with over 50 dates.
In June 2019, Glynne received a lifetime ban from the Isle of Wight Festival when she canceled her set, giving only 10-minute warning. She later confessed that her reason for canceling was after a heavy night.
“It’s true that I went out and celebrated the end of the Spice World tour,” she said.
Later that month, she canceled a number of gigs as well, reportedly due to advice from her vocal surgeon. Some of the gigs included a headline performance at the Rochester Castle Concerts. Fortunately for her, the ban was revoked less than a year later.
Glynne left Atlantic Records following a disagreement in January 2022. Two months later, she signed with Jay-Z’s Roc Nation. She went on to release the lead single from the forthcoming album Silly Me, on April 28, 2023, however, the song did not top any charts.
