Jerry was first elected in 1992 and served as a Rep till 2013.
He has precided over the House Judiciary Committee since 2019.
Jerry served as member of the New York State Assembly from 1977 to 1992. He sat in the 182nd, 183rd, 184th, 185th, 186th, 187th, 188th and 189th New York State Legislatures.
He had tried on two occasions to contest for Manhattan Borough President but lost to David Dinkins.
He also tried contesting for New York City Comptroller, but again lost to Kings County D.A. Elizabeth Holtzman.
Jerry is currently the dean of New York’s delegation to the House of Representatives.
