Jeremy Mansfield, a South African radio personality, died on October 31, 2022. Mansfield revealed on Facebook in January that he had been diagnosed with liver cancer 13 years after beating leukaemia.

He is remembered as a champion of the airwaves by many. A number of industry colleagues and friends sent condolences to Mansfield’s family following the announcement of his passing.

His show, the Rude Awakening, had listeners anticipating their commute to work just to hear what Mansfield and his team would do next.
He was not only known for Rude Awakening, but he also had a keen interest in sport, working on SuperSport and later as a sports presenter on the John Berks show on 702.
Mansfield also appeared on television and co-hosted Laugh Out Loud with Darren “Wackhead” Simpson. He also released a series of CDs featuring the best of his on-air jokes and exploits.
