Following the conclusion of his first marriage, Goldblum found himself romantically entwined with his frequent co-star, Geena Davis.

The duo shared the screen in several sci-fi cult classics during the late 1980s, including “Earth Girls are Easy” and “Transylvania 6-5000.” However, they are perhaps most fondly remembered for their roles as the on-screen couple Veronica Quaife and Seth Brundle in the classic horror thriller “The Fly.”

Their chemistry extended beyond the film set, leading to their marriage in November 1987. Describing his initial impressions of Geena, Jeff Goldblum revealed in an interview with GQ that he found her to be “gorgeously shy.

” Despite being captivated by her, he admitted feeling uncertain about winning her affections, saying, “I really like this woman, and she’s not going to like me. How can I ever make her like me?”

The couple’s love story unfolded with spontaneity, as they decided to tie the knot in a whirlwind ceremony in Las Vegas. Jeff Goldblum spoke candidly about his deep admiration for Geena, emphasizing her loving and irresistible qualities. He described the ease with which she made falling in love seem natural.

However, the union reached its conclusion in October 1990, with Geena Davis filing for divorce after completing work on the iconic movie “Thelma and Louise.” Despite the separation, it appeared to be amicable, with Geena expressing sadness and acknowledging the complexities of a normal couple’s experiences.

In a 1991 interview with People, she reflected on the public perception of their relationship, stating, “Other people’s perceptions are that it’s just perfect, he’s the funniest guy. This is not a reflection on Jeff. I mean, it can apply equally to me. We were a normal couple and had all kinds of experiences. We weren’t sitting around just laughing all day, putting on shows for each other.”
