Jeff Gladney, a former first-round choice of the Minnesota Vikings and Arizona Cardinals cornerback, died Monday, May 30 at the age of 25 in an automobile accident in Dallas, according to his agent, Brian Overstreet.

The Cardinals issued the following statement in response to Gladney’s death: “We are heartbroken to learn of Jeff Gladney’s loss. Our thoughts go out to his family, friends, and everyone else who is suffering this tragic loss.”

Because the details of the incident have not been released, it is difficult to say whether he was in the car alone or with someone at the time.
Gladney joined the NFL in 2020 after a strong career at TCU, where he earned first-team All-Big 12 accolades in 2019 after earning second-team honours the year before. Gladney spent his first season with the Vikings before signing with the Arizona Cardinals as part of their free agency haul this past March.
