Jean Lapointe Cause of Death

Jean Lapointe, OC OQ was a Quebecois-Canadian actor, comedian, and singer as well as a former Canadian Senator. Throughout the 1970s and 1980s, Lapointe was successful on his own in both comedy and music, stringing together successes like Chante-la-ta chanson, Tu jongles avec mon vie, and Si on chantait ensemble.

Lapointe began his stage career as part of the duo Les Jérolas with Jérôme Lemay, performing in such venues as The Ed Sullivan Show and at the Olympia in Paris.

His actual cause of death is not known, however, we gathered that he died surrounded by family members, and also, he reportedly died from health complications.

Lapointe’s struggle with alcoholism and the subsequent founding of the Maison Jean Lapointe rehabilitation facility in 1982, however, might be his most enduring legacies. Soon after, the Centre received financial support from the Fondation Jean Lapointe.
