Julio Daniel Martinez is a baseball outfielder and designated hitter who plays for the Los Angeles Dodgers in Major League Baseball (MLB).
Born on August 21, 1987, in Miami, Florida, United States, Martinez began his MLB career in 2011, playing for the Houston Astros, after he was drafted by the team in the 20th round of the 2009 MLB Draft.

Afterwards, he played for the Detroit Tigers, where he finished second in the American League MVP voting, hitting .282 with 38 home runs and 102 RBIs, and named an All-Star.

Martinez had a remarkable half-season playing with the Arizona Diamondbacks in 2017, by hitting .302 with 29 home runs and 65 RBIs in just 62 games.
Martinez further joined the Boston Red Sox, and contributed to the team winning the World Series, and was named the Most Valuable Player (MVP) of the American League Championship Series.
Also, with the Red Sox, Martinez earned his third All-Star selection and led the league in RBIs (130) while hitting .330 with 43 home runs.
In 2022, Martinez signed a one-year deal worth $10 million with the Los Angeles Dodgers.
